Return home
We had a 4 hour delay at the airport in St. Lucia because of the snow in London. We flew to Gatwick and it was an over night flight. They had a choice of about 50 movies and TV programs. But I couldn’t help feeling how strange it would be getting home and couldn’t imagine it either. The thought of home after all this time. It was crazy.
We got to Gatwick 8 hours later. It was -4 degrees. And we...
St. Lucia
This was my last sail going from Bequia to St. Lucia. I just could not believe that I would be going home in a week. It was great fun and we had lots of wind and some big swells. But the boat ploughed on through them. Unfortunately I forgot to take sea sick pills, and ended up chucking up twice. It was annoying to think that I had pretty much been being sick all the way. At one point whilst I was...
Bequia
We had a very nice sail over from Barbados. As we left in the evening it meant normal watches and arrive there at about 9 am. On my watch that night it was very starry and clear as I watched Barbados disappear into the night. There were a few big container ships around but all were heading for land. Then looking around with the night vision scope I spotted another ship. It was hard to tell which...

BARBADOS
It took us 24 hours to get to Barbados from Tobago. It was a nice sail but in the number of days id been there I had already lost my sea legs and I felt quite sick all the way but I was not throw up. We arrived at about 4 pm and got told that we were not allowed to step off the boat until customs and immigration had come to us and we had filled in the forms. The harbor we were at was at...

2/11/09 Cape Verde Isles
We got woken up at 2:30 am that morning. We were leaving from Tarrafal to go to Praia, to get fuel, food and pick up Steve and Phoebe. It was a five hour sail and we planned to arrive in Praia at 9:00 am. On the way we all got rested because there was a lot to do when we got there.
When we got to Praia I radioed Phoebe and Steve to say we were here. We were anchored off...

It is really hot and humid - I need to remember to drink all the time.
I have found my sea legs - no longer sea sick - hurray!
I have never read so much in my life - 3 books already and looking forward to starting on Blyth’s!
Mummy thinks everyone should witness the state of my knees - no longer sea sick but still accident prone!
To Sea At Last
We were in Lanzerote for three weeks. it was a very useful place and we got all our repairs done. that included the water maker being installed, we would die without it and the wind direction unit fixed, we had to replace two various motors that had worn out.
Whilst installing the water maker we had a carpenter come do the wood work around it. He is called Dale. He is from Newzeland and has...

I have had a really cool day today!
Earlier this morning I caught another dolphin fish - Derado. It was also about 2 pounds, so we put it back.
Soon after that there was a small pod of about 10 dolphin.
Bizarrely, following them was hundreds of yellow fin tuna. They were all under 5 pounds - Blyth, Pheobe and Steve all caught tuna but they were tiny. Some only 1 pound so they put them back...

I’m having a great time. I was sick 4 times on the first day at sea. I can’t stay downstairs for long without feeling sick unless I lie in my bunk! Unfortunately little sailing as no wind. Passed a volcano!

Ready to go! Leaving the Canaries today! Good updates on web site with photos and video.

We’ve had another delay (watermaker!) but we should leave today or tomorrow. I can’t wait. I’ll put up another main blog when I get to Cape Verde as no more to write from here!

I’m having fun. My cold is much better. I was allowed to dive again earlier this week. It was amazing we saw an Angle Shark. My first shark in the wild! It was lying in the sand like a sting ray. There are too many sea urchins.

Hi - We’re hopefully leaving for Cape Verde on Friday (fingers crossed!). Just waiting for the replacement watermaker - a machine that makes drinking water out of sea water.

My blog is now live. It’s difficult to load pictures as the internet is very slow. Steve also has his own blog and he is reporting to Reach the World; http://www.reachtheworld.org/journey/voyageoftheseadragon

I have a cold so can’t dive. But busy working and fitting things on the boat. We’ve done our first plastic trawl. It’s amazing how much we found.

Hi - I am really enjoying myself. Everyone is very nice. I had a great first dive yesterday. Checking beaches for plastic today.
Begining of the adventure
My Dad and I got the 7:40 flight from Cardiff to Arrecife, in Lanzarote. The flight took about 4 hours, but it wasn’t so bad since they had a movie playing.
Once we landed we collected our luggage then walked out into the warm air. There was a big row of taxis lined up along the airport. Calling one over we loaded up and left for Puerto Naos marina. As we drove along side of the marina we kept...

My first time on the boat was a great experience.
When we arrived at Limington marina, with Blyth, Tim, Ron and Portia I expected to find the boat in water but, instead the whole thing was suspended 20 feet in the air. When we had to get on board there was a wobbly wooden ladder which felt like it was going to snap. But, terrified Blyth and I, both scared of heights, just had to...
